Breast lift

If you wish to restore a more youthful contour to your breast, you may be candidate for a breast lift. If you have lost your cleavage as well as considerable volume at your breasts you may also consider having silicone gel implants inserted at the time of breast lift surgery.

While a breast lift/mastopexy can be performed at any age it is recommended that the procedure be undertaken only when breast development has stopped. Childbirth and breast-feeding can have a significant effect on the size and shape of your breasts.

The usual method of lifting the breast uses 3 incisions: one around the areola, the second vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the crease under the breast and the third along the natural curve of the breast crease but can be eliminated in certain cases. We will inform you which incisions are most appropriate for you. After excess skin is removed, the nipple and areola are moved to a higher position; when there is nipple inversion, we correct it with permanent results. Because the nipples and areolas remain attached to the breast tissue, sensation in this area is preserved most of the time, but numbness does occur occasionally.

There are normally few complications from breast lift surgery. However, some of the possible complications include hematoma, infection and skin slough.

4-7days after you can return to your daily activities and you have to wear a support bra for a few weeks, until the swelling diminishes. Incisions will be red for 6months, black for another 3months and white after 6-10months.
